- Go to the Market /Shop and buy:
Spring/Summer - largest fertile meadows you can afford
Autumn/Winter - a greenhouse
1000 droppings and make manure
Seeds:
flax in spring
wheat and turnips in summer
Boarders do not make any profit, so do not buy boxes at this point and you won't need to hire any employees.

- Grow crops in any season and resell items to the Market, so your EC reserve increases.
Spring/Summer in fertile meadows
Autumn/Winter if you have a greenhouse

- Increase your reserve until you can comfortably afford an 18m box.
The more boxes you have the more pasture you will need for resident horses (whether there are any boarded or not).
You will also need bedding, carrots, health mashes and employees once you have boxes.
You can use passes to buy boxes, meadows and scarecrows.
