why hosting a picture

Before putting a picture anywhere on howrse, it has to be hosted somewhere on the web.

• If the picture is already on the web, for example if you find it with google, or you see it on a website, you can get the url of the picture by right-clicking on it, and choosing "copying picture address".

• If the picture is in your computer, you have to upload it to a hosting website, to put it on the web, and then get the url of the picture.
  

where to host a picture

There are several special free hosting websites where you can upload your pictures :

• imageshack.us
• photobucket.com (need to join to use it)

in html mode

* go to "My profile", in html mode

* if the url of your picture is : http:// picture_url, here is the code to put in your profile presentation:

<img src="http://picture_url">

* replace http://picture_url by the real url of your picture !

* to resize your picture, if it's too big, add the dimension codes (but be careful to keep them proportional to the original picture to avoid deformation).

in normal mode

* click where you want to put the picture
* click on the picture symbol
* enter your picture url, and click on OK
